Amazon Kindle Paperwhite Hard Reset

Before you give your handset to repair shop or buy new handset, please try the following procedure to repair your device. First charge your battery more then 70%, backup your important data like phone-book, message, email, images and settings and in most cases take out SIM card and SD card. After doing hard reset not possible to recover your data, so online backup is always important. For all of your data, a backup should be done on a external device, hard drive, raid system media or SD card.

De-Register YOUR DEVICE

To transfer ownership, you have to de-register from Amazon.  If you don’t, then the new owner won’t be able to use the Kindle.

From the Home Screen select  MENU > SETTINGS > REGISTRATION

This will give you the option to DeRegister your Kindle right there.

 

Hard Reset the device

Reset your Kindle Paperwhite if you forgot your Kindle password and need to regain access.

Reset your device only if you want to remove all content downloaded to the device and register the device again.

If you have any content that is not saved to Your Kindle Library in the Cloud, be sure to transfer that content from your device to your computer via USB. For more information, go to Transfer from a Computer to Your Kindle.

You can't reset your Kindle Paperwhite if Parental Controls are set. If you forget your password, reset your Kindle by entering 111222777 as the Parental Controls password.

Important: Resetting your Kindle will remove all content downloaded to it. Any content that is already saved to Your Kindle Library in the Cloud will remain in the Cloud. You can download that content again if you register your Kindle to your account again.

From Home, tap the Menu

then tap Settings.

and then tap Reset Device.

Your Kindle Paperwhite will power off and power back on.
